May 1st, historically an important day to the world's communists and socialists, has now officially been declared "Loyalty Day" in the U.S. by Premier Obama. (No folks, we just can't make this stuff up.)In his official proclamation announcing the day of Loyalty to the state, Obama declares "we have reaffirmed our faith in the ideals that inspired our founding," referring to the generation of Americans who rebelled against their own king and the form of government that they had been born into. The day will supposedly "recognize the American spirit of loyalty and the sacrifices that so many have made for our Nation."
Obama also states: "On this day, let us reaffirm our allegiance to the United States of America, our Constitution, and our founding values." Unfortunately, thanks to power-hungry politicians like Obama, allegiance to the latter two items is increasingly making loyalty to the former more difficult every day.

Wasn't May 1 Law Day? I remember as a senior in high school spending a day learning about the courts, police, etc. As I recall, Law Day was set up in opposition to May Day celebrations in Communist countries as a chance to showcase American rule of law. Do they still do this?
Nothing inconsistent here Ben, it's probably intended to be the sort of day when creatures of the state celebrate their unflinching loyalty to the institution of the state, while paying lip service to the Constitution and the Founding Fathers. In fact the Founding Fathers could be celebrated by a series of substantial grants to language experts to study their works and try to discover nuances to indicate a desire for a collectivist society.
Try not to be too hard on lefties, they do after all support our saying, "Live free or die." Before Bawb sprays coffee into his keyboard I should explain, they just misconstrue the meaning of living free.
"Live Free or Die" is/was also the state motto of New Hampshire. But they don't mean it in a Bruce Willis kind of way anymore either.
As for Law Day, it would seem our system has more and more in common with the old Communist regimes every day, including the jurisprudence system.
Maybe next year year we'll have Barry, Janet and Eric riding down Penn Avenue on huge mobile missile carriers at the head of a long column of tanks and marching DHS troops. Might as well do it up right in all the trimmings as to what it really is.
