.45 ACP...THE GREATEST HANDGUN CALIBER EVER MADE
Just a gratuitous plug for the gang over at Ammo For Sale and their new videos on "The Greatest Caliber Ever Made", even though only this one on the.45 ACP actually makes any sense.
YOU MIGHT BE A LIBERAL IF...
You Might be a Liberal if…
1.
You think a journalist
briefly embedded with American troops immediately loses all objectivity and
credibility, but that a journalist with his head permanently embedded up Barack
Obama’s ass can see everything with unusual clarity and honesty.
2.
You screamed and
ranted to have Guantanamo
Bay permanently shut down
every day for years, but haven’t uttered a single peep about it since Day 2 of
Obama’s First Term.
3.
You proudly
proclaim yourself to be fully Pro-Choice, but insist that others should not be
allowed to choose to buy a gun, pick their children’s school, smoke a
cigarette, practice their religion, have their own doctor or purchase an
extra-large soda.
4.
You have
constant, irresistible urges to mindlessly bleat and follow the herd.
5.
You believe that
the phrase “Separation of Church and State” actually appears in the United
States Constitution.
6.
You believe “separation
of church and state” means that the government can monitor and tell a Christian
pastor exactly what he can or cannot say within the confines of his own church but
that Muslim Sharia law should supersede American civil and criminal law.
7.
You know that “the
right of the People” actually means “only the National Guard” and that “shall
not be infringed” translates into “total control at the government’s whim.”
8.
You believe the
purpose of the education system is to promote children’s self esteem and to “advance
social justice” so it doesn’t matter if the kids can’t do basic math and are
functionally illiterate upon graduation from high school.
9.
You think Adolph Hitler
was a mass murderer but that Joseph Stalin was a “world democratic leader” and
Mao Tse Tung was a “people’s agrarian reformer”.
10.
You eagerly accept Al Jazeera, Whitehouse press
releases, the SPLC, fortune cookies and Ouija boards as 100% reliable news
sources but won’t watch Fox News because it’s all a pack of lies.
11.
You think you are
saving the planet by driving an electric car which is re-charged from a
coal-fired power plant’s electricity and generates a large amount of toxic
metal waste every few years when you have to replace the inefficient rechargeable
lithium battery.
12.
You believe that prior to 2008, Bush and
Cheney were personally responsible and maliciously culpable when consumer gasoline
prices rose anywhere over $4 per gallon, but whenever gas hits the same price
range under Obama, the president has absolutely nothing to do with these sort
of things and has no control over them anyway.
13.
You think that the worst economy, unemployment
and net job losses since the Great Depression for almost four years running is
a fabulously successful government-led economic recovery and rebound.
14.
You believe that the only thing the Media
should “fact-check” for the duration of Obama’s Presidency is Saturday Night Live skits.
15.
You refer to a Muslim or minority who happily machine-guns
a school bus full of nuns and Girl Scouts on live television as “the alleged
shooter”, “misunderstood” and innocent until proven guilty. At the same time,
if a petty criminal paid government informant alleges that a white militia
member advocated something violent, he should automatically be referred to in
perpetuity as an evil racist homophobic bigoted blood-thirsty hate-mongering murderer.
16.
You think that large American cities such as Detroit and Chicago
lying in physical and fiscal ruins was caused by not enough government.
17.
You see absolutely
no contradiction and believe both when the government tells you that four out
of five American school children go hungry each day while at the same time saying
that seven out of ten American school children are grossly obese.
18.
You believe no one should need to show any
form of ID whatsoever to vote in an election but that it’s perfectly reasonable
and acceptable that you should have to present two forms of government-issued
ID, a DNA sample and submit to a full body search in order to attend a speech
by Eric Holder explaining why you don’t need any ID to vote.
19.
You think that paid union thugs and/or paid
OWS protestors screaming for “war” and committing acts of violence and
vandalism in the streets falls under the category of “peaceful, productive
civil discourse” but that the Tea Party is an inherently dangerous army of hate-mongers
with a penchant for violence who must be immediately and fully suppressed by
government forces using any means necessary.
20.
You believe that
if you have a black father, a white mother and a last name of Obama, you are
100% black but if you have an Hispanic father, a white mother, and a last name
of Zimmerman, you are 100% white. And racist.
21.
You know that Freedom
of Speech is rendered null and void if said speech might possibly offend a
Liberal and/or cause “hurt feelings.”
22.
You got really pissed off reading this.

THE REAGAN YEARS VS THE OBAMA YEARS
THEN
NOW
We
recently compared Ronald Reagan to Barack Obama on a personal basis using each
man’s own thoughts, words and ideas, or lack thereof. Unless under the
influence of powerful narcotics or blind and gullible enough to believe the MSM,
that round obviously went to Ron. This time we’ll take a broader look at the
country as a whole under the two administrations, and see which eight year span
comes out on top.
When Ronald Reagan was in the Whitehouse, Clint Eastwood had
his own police force as Mayor of Carmel and Chuck Norris was allowed to have
Muslim Arabic terrorists as bad guys in his movies…and kill them. Our
staunchest international ally was Maggie Thatcher, who had more balls than
David Cameron and Barack Obama combined. The Soviet Union
was the Evil Empire, and the Communists and Socialists trying to destroy our
nation were still mostly an external threat. But Reagan had a clear and
articulate plan for the Cold War: “They lose, we win.” While sneered at by the
press, Reaganomics and “Trickle Down Economics” actually worked a lot better
than our current policy of forced wealth redistribution and “Trickle Up Poverty”.
In fact, when the Soviet Union continued to pursue many of the same policies
followed by our current Presidential administration it went completely
bankrupt, Communism collapsed and the bloody Iron Curtain that had fallen
across Eastern Europe in 1945 finally crumbled
to the ground.
Today, many people around the world are referring to the U.S. as the
Evil Empire. Major American cities (which have been ruled unchallenged and
mismanaged by the Left for decades) are going completely bankrupt and Communism
has made a helluva comeback in Red China, funded in large part by American
consumer and taxpayer dollars. As horrible as we knew it to be at the time, the
national debt when Reagan left office was $2,684,392,000,000. Under Obongo’s
inspired leadership, he’s single-handedly racked up more debt than the first 41
presidents combined, up over 84% from 1988, and as of this moment the US
National Debt is $16,787,451,118,147.57, (it will be well over that before I
can hit “Post”...HERE’S the running tally.) Lucky for us that those good Maoist
Chinese Communist hate capitalism. If the Chi-Coms and others holding our
national debt decided they wanted to cash in their chips, every man, woman and
child in the United States
would each have to personally cough up $55,092 a pop to cover the debt accrued
by the dishonest, irresponsible and unaccountable “public servants” on Capital
Hill. Just for the general state of things, the decade of the 80’s wins.
The decade of the 80’s also saw some particularly fierce
hurricanes hit the Gulf Coast, but not even the Democrats and the media thought
they could get away with trying to blame Reagan for them personally. Ditto Mount St.
Helens. Today, natural disasters are still being routinely blamed
on Bush Jr. and all current governmental mismanagement fiascos involving
disaster relief since 2008 have been immediately and permanently swept under
the rug by the media. The very same and much worse unemployment rates, economic
stagnation, debt, lies and scandals which the MSM would have been viewed as
evil incarnate and the end of the world under Reagan are now portrayed as
successful and optimistic under Obama. For instance, unemployment rising over
10% under Reagan in his first term was reported as TEOTWAWKI and he was not allowed to blame anything on the
previous president, while a successful non-government stimulus program which
actually grew real private-sector jobs and dropped the unemployment figure back
down to 5.4% was not deemed newsworthy.
Conversely, Obama is still
allowed and encouraged to blame the previous administration for anything that
even might conceivably go wrong through 2025, that disastrous $787 billion
“stimulus” plan which “will keep unemployment from ever rising over 8%” has
been conveniently purged from the archives and news in true Orwellian/Stalinist
style, while 44 months of the worst unemployment since the Great Depression has
been constantly and gleefully reported as “Green Shoots!”, “Recovery!”,
“Economic Rebound!” and “Happy-Happy Joy-Joy!” Democrats and the MSM called
Ronald Reagan the Teflon President because no matter how much shit they threw
at him, none of it stuck. Seeking something…anything…to
discredit Ronnie they went apeshit over Iran-Contra because the “seriousness of
the charges” was more important than mere “lack of evidence.” Since 2008,
however, any and every scandal Obama has been involved in…Socialist Party
Membership, School Records, Bill Ayers, ACORN, Fast & Furious, Benghazi,
IRS abuses, spying on the press, Holder, Sebelius, New Black Panthers, Solyndra
and a host of others…has been either deliberately ignored or vigorously
suppressed by the Propaganda Ministry because “evidence means nothing” if the
“seriousness of the charges” might somehow make their work-of-fiction President
look bad. For abject media bias, obfuscation and lies, 2008+ wins hands down.
In 1983, McDonalds proved you don’t actually need any actual
poultry to serve chicken when it comes in the form of McNuggets, and we
Americans happily scarfed them down by the bucketful, with Sweet ‘N Sour sauce and Honey Mustard dip. After all,
they’re USDA inspected. Thirty years later, the First Lady and the Mayor of NYC
led heavily armed SWAT teams into McDonalds restaurants around the country to
machinegun soft drinks considered too large to be healthful and to ensure that
the food served there is halal for Muslims. I’ll take deep-fat-fried meat-like
substances over Health Nazis and Islam any day; the Reagan years win.
In 1986 the space shuttle Columbia crashed and burned but at least we still had a space program back then and NASA’s
stated taxpayer-funded mission was not,
“To make Muslims feel warm and fuzzy about themselves and their culture for having
invented some mathematic formulae centuries ago, even if they haven’t managed
to master even the rudiments of a garbage collection system since.” In space,
the winning decade goes to the 80’s.
In the late 1980’s, the Personal Computer first crept into American homes
where we stared at flickering green letters on a fuzzy screen that only told us
“Syntax Error” no matter what buttons we pushed. Today, we have the Worldwide
Web in every home and all the buttons on the keyboard work but most Americans
are too lazy and apathetic to dig for any real news beyond the carefully
orchestrated tripe spoon-fed them by the Obama Propaganda Ministry. The triumph
of ignorance and gullibility goes to the Obama Era.
In 1989, although Reagan’s second term was over, we and the
rest of the Free World still strongly condemned the Red Chinese when they
rolled out the tanks to crush political dissent in Tiananmen
Square. In 2012, the United States Department of Homeland Security
purchased 2,700 armored vehicles of its own, the better to “protect” us with,
and we already saw a few of them roll down the streets of Boston. Even at this very moment Illinois
Democrats are calling for the National Guard to roll tanks through the streets
of Chicago;
“for the children”, of course. I guess I always held onto the apparently
out-dated notion that rolling tanks in the streets of your own country and
using them against your own citizens, whether it was in Poland, Hungary, Beijing
or Chicago, was always a bad and
repressive thing. Nowadays the MSM tells me that tanks in the streets can be
either good or bad, depending on whether or not the person who sends them has a
(D) behind his or her name. This tells me we should expect more of it in the
future. For creeping Orwellian Police State growth while the Media Watch Dogs nap,
Obama wins.
Not all was sweetness and light in the 1980’s, however. On
television, one of the most popular shows was The Dukes of Hazard, featuring the kind of cartoonish characters,
meaningless dialog and unbelievable premises we wouldn’t see again until MSM
press coverage of Obama Campaign ’08. The last episode of M*A*S*H aired in 1983, but by then it needed to go as Alan Alda had
turned it into a kind of Olive Drab Oprah Winfrey Show. It was the era of
prime-time soap operas, too, but I personally never gave a shit who shot J.R.,
or why. But the 80’s were to eventually redeem themselves with the appearance
of other shows like Magnum P.I., Cheers,
The Simpsons, Married With Children and the little appreciated comedy
masterpiece Sledgehammer. But, as
opposed to today, there was no such thing as Reality TV in the 1980’s, which sadly
makes that decade the winner almost by default.
Musically, the 80’s was A
Tale of Two Cities; it was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
Cassettes made my vinyl and 8-tracts obsolete until they too were turned into
dinosaurs by the CD, at which point I gave up on a music collection as too
costly. On our Sony Walkmans and boom boxes we had to put up with two Jacksons
(Michael and Janet), Madonna dressed like a bag-lady prostitute while singing
about her virginity, the artist formerly known as Prince was still known as
Prince, and to this day it brings me to tears to even contemplate that Culture
Club and Boy George actually existed. Rap and Hip Hop became huge in the 80’s,
and Ice-T sang about shooting cops instead of playing one on TV. The country
music world is still scratching its head over the whole k.d. lang thing, whose
very existence was just a media creation, much like a certain president I could
mention. Perhaps most chilling of all was the popularity of the WTF “music” put
out by the likes of the New Kids on the Block, Milli Vanilli, the Pet Shop
Boys, A-ha, Debbie Gibson and Tiffany. I don’t want to depress Jim, so I won’t
mention Men at Work.
On the other hand, we still had Tom Petty, Billys Joel and
Idol, Joan Jett, John Cougar, Blondie, Bob Seger, Pat Benatar, and Tina Turner
and her legs. The 80’s Hair Bands
looked ridiculous even then, but they did give us some great rock ballads: Wanted Dead or Alive, Livin’ on a Prayer,
Sweet Child o’ Mine, Paradise
City, Every Rose has its
Thorn. My wife still listens to these and I…and I’m not sure if this is
good or bad…still know all the lyrics by heart when they come on. Others in
that last category that are still stuck in my head: Jesse’s Girl, Jack and Diane, You May be Right, I love Rock ‘n’ Roll, Dancing
With Myself, Old Time Rock and Roll.
I was Country when Country wasn’t cool, and the 80’s were pretty good to
country music, too. Reba, Garth, Clint and Lori all got their starts then and
we had the Oaks, Alabama
and the Statlers, Eddie Rabbit and Juice Newton, and of course Dolly. Waylon and Willie and Merle were going strong.
Clint Eastwood listened to country music, had an ape and sang duets about
drinking beer with Merle Haggard and Ray Charles. Hank Jr. was my favorite in
them days, with songs like A Country Boy
Can Survive, whose lyrics include what I believe is Ben’s all-time favorite
musical line, “I’d love to spit some Beechnut in that dude’s eyes, And shoot
him with my ol’ Forty-five…”
Today, I can’t name a single band in the top 40, so they
must not be very good. Rihanna is now apparently a singer, not a Fleetwood Mac
song. Someone named Robin Thicke is at the top of the charts…wasn’t he the guy
who hosted some stupid video bloopers show? I don’t have any idea what the real
songs are that Weird Al Yankovich is spoofing these days. Most damning of all
has been turning popular music into nothing more than an agitprop branch of the
MSM, with campaign commercials such as Yes
We Can and Forward masquerading
as songs. Musicians no longer rail against established authority and The Man. Instead, they have forgotten all about their whole
“separation of church and state” fiction in order to make videos worshipping, praising
and vowing subservience to the false messiah they helped create. The Man must
now be blindly believed, obeyed and served…or else. So, as lame as music was
throughout much of the 80’s, that decade still wins simply because it was
still music rather than simple agitprop.
The 1980’s didn’t give us anything very cool automotive-wise,
either. There were no hulking road dinosaurs like the ’57 Chevy nor were there
any snarling muscle cars ala the 60’s and 70’s; instead, we got the K-Car, the
Maxima and the mini-van. Oh sure, the DeLorean looked cool, but it turned out to be a real dog mechanically and
performance-wise; only six production models were sold, and those were used
primarily for time travel. But, in spite of the best efforts of the unions, at
least there still were functioning automobile plants…and steel foundries…and
shipwrights…and aircraft manufacturers…on American soil in the 80’s. Perhaps
just as important, engine performance was still measured in horsepower rather
than voltage, although it was a low point indeed in automotive history when
they put a 90-hp 4-cylinder motor in the ’82 Firebird. Today, we as tax-payers
are forced to subsidize defunct car companies which are nothing more than
government fronts in order to manufacture eco-friendly cars that no one
actually wants to buy and to pay the wages of union employees who dutifully and
blindly vote Democrat. So, once more, score to the Reagan years.
The 1980’s were a great decade for movies. Harrison Ford was Indiana Jones, period. Ahnold was The Terminator (“I’ll be back.”), Bruce
Willis was John McClain (Yippee Ki-Yeah, Motherf*****!), Mel Gibson was either Mad Max or Martin Riggs (although all I
can remember is Danny Glover’s “I’m getting’ too old for this shit.”), Stallone
was Rambo (“Grunting Noises.”), Clint
Eastwood was still Dirty Harry (“Make
my day.”), Paul Hogan was Crocodile
Dundee and even Eddie Murphy was a kick-ass action hero in the 80’s in 48 Hours and as a Beverly Hills Cop. On the other hand, Roger Moore in lieu of Sean
Connery as James Bond just plain sucked. Bill Murray and Chevy
Chase were still funny, Belushi and Ackroyd were the Blues Brothers, and John Candy was still
with us. The Empire Struck Back, we
went Back to the Future, met ET, took a day off with Ferris Bueller, flew with Top Gun, spent the Weekend at Bernie’s, fought Aliens
and were able to laugh at Sean Penn smokin’ weed at Ridgemont High because he hadn’t yet gotten the false impression
that he should be taken seriously or that his asinine personal opinions were of
national importance. Burt Reynolds kept driving fast cars, we knew Charlie
Sheen had a brother, Kevin Costner still couldn’t act but made darn good
movies, and teen-agers were encouraged
to arm themselves and kill Commies in Red
Dawn. (BTW, whatever happened to Lea Thompson and Jennifer Grey?) As if all
that 80’s stuff wasn’t cool enough, Jamie Lee Curtis, Brooke Shields, Demi
Moore and Darryl Hannah appeared naked and Kathleen Turner was still smokin’
hot.
Since 2008, finding a movie worth watching has been an
ordeal. CGI has become a substitute for plot, characters and dialogue combined
all in one fell swoop, anything with Alec Baldwin in it is guaranteed to suck, and having to rely entirely upon video games
and comic books (sorry Sheldon, I meant Graphic Novels) for new movie ideas
rather shows a dearth of imagination. There’s a small bright spot occasionally;
I kind of like Robert Downey Jr. and Daniel Craig, we have our good old 80’s
stars back in the Expendables and RED, and I will grant you that Zombieland was indeed a cinematic
masterpiece. But really, when it comes right down to it Hollywierd is so hard
up for ideas they’re basically just re-making every successful movie of the
1980’s, and starting on other decades as well. For Christ’s sake, just look at
the recent and upcoming list…Total
Recall, Judge Dredd, Mad Max, Conan the Barbarian, Highlander, Dirty Dancing,
Footloose, Point Break, War Games, Deathwish, Commando. Re-doing True Grit was downright blasphemous,
especially since that baby-faced Liberal pussy Matt Damon had never even seen
the John Wayne original. Commie. Hollywood is doing this because (a) they
haven’t had an original idea in decades, (b) a perverse Leftist form of reverse
McCarthyism has permeated the entire American movie industry so that nothing
critical of Liberalism may be produced and (c) they have a whole new generation
of kids who’ve never seen the original movies and won’t know how bad these
remakes really suck. If all your “new” ideas are 80’s-remakes, then the 80’s
win again.
There you have it, folks. Scientific proof we were better
off under Reagan than Obama.
MEDIA BIAS...SEE, IT'S NOT JUST US
Not that you can really soil a properly brain-washed liberal's mind anyway, but some folks who still bother to try might be hesitant to use Bawb as a reference. Articles containing words and phrases like "shit", "booger", "lib-tards" and "lick my sack" just aren't given the credibility they once were. Plus, we've proven more than once that while sarcasm and satire amuse the hell out of us, the average lib-tard booger shit's mind is incapable of fathoming either concept. No, I don't know what these people do for fun either.
Anyway, here's something a little more scholarly and a little less profane than Bawb's rants about the MSM:
■ The networks minimized or ignored key information exposing the administration’s lies about the attacks in Benghazi. And, after the President falsely insisted in a debate that he branded the attack as “an act of terror” the very next day, CBS’s 60 Minutes withheld a key video proving this claim to be untrue.
Anyway, here's something a little more scholarly and a little less profane than Bawb's rants about the MSM:
MRC Special Report: The Media Censorship That Put Barack Obama Back in the White House
Here's just a handful of teasers from the full report:
■ Network evening news viewers in 2012 never once heard
the embarrassing prediction by Obama’s economic team that passage of
the $787 billion “stimulus” would halt the rise of unemployment at 8%.
(In reality, the jobless rate stayed above that mark for 44 months, the
worst economic performance since the Great Depression.)
■ There was just a single network mention last year (on ABC) of Obama’s broken promise of cutting the federal budget deficit “by half by the end of my first term in office.” Reporters on CBS and NBC never once brought up this inconvenient truth.
■ All three evening newscasts buried official statistics showing record numbers of Americans depending on government handouts for food, and rising poverty more than two years after Team Obama claimed the economy was supposedly recovering.
■ In all of 2012, the network evening newscasts devoted only 61 seconds to talking about how ObamaCare's mandates, regulations and new taxes would hurt small businesses. None of them ever mentioned the official CBO report showing that ObamaCare would cost up to 6 million works their present health insurance.
■ The networks buried news of how Obama squandered more than $500 billion of taxpayer money in loans to the solar company Solyndra, whose biggest investor was a major Obama campaign donor and fundraiser.

In other news, you may have noticed that the city of Detroit, like Chicago a bastion of all government things liberal, which hasn't elected a Republican since 1962, has filed for bankruptcy. The next time you read Atlas Shrugged, simply substitute "Detroit" for "Starnesville" and it will all make perfect sense.

WHEN BARRY MET RONNIE
WILL THE REAL DUNCE PLEASE STAND UP?
A friend and I were recently missing the 1980’s, perhaps
partially because we were younger then, but mainly because of Ronald Reagan.
That got me to thinking about today, and comparing the two leaders and the two Americas. When it
comes to comparing leaders, it’s no contest.
Despite the press bending over backwards to ridicule Reagan
every chance they got and to portray him as a bumbling oaf and amiable dunce, he
was a great deal smarter than his enemies gave him credit for. He also knew a
helluva lot more about how government actually functions, or rather
dysfunctions, than the current crop of ninnies who would be king. He proved
that time and again in his own words.
Another thought came to me as I went over these quotes one last time. If you didn't know who said them, would you at least be able to tell which man was supposedly a shallow, superficial and none-too-bright actor and which one was supposedly a Constitutional lawyer and scholar?
"Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them."
"Government is like a baby. An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other."
"Government’s first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives."
"Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."
"No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth!"
"The problem is not that people are taxed too little, the problem is that government spends too much."
"We are going to put an end to the notion that the
American taxpayer exists to fund the federal government. The federal government
exists to serve the American people."
"There’s a clear cause and effect here that is as neat
and predictable as a law of physics: As government expands, liberty contracts."
"The federal government has taken too much tax money from
the people, too much authority from the states, and too much liberty with the
Constitution."
"Extreme taxation, excessive controls, oppressive
government competition with business, frustrated minorities and forgotten
Americans are not the products of free enterprise. They are the residue of
centralized bureaucracy, of government by a self-anointed elite."
Fast
forward to the present. The media and the Far Left (but I repeat myself)
presented to the American people a fictional character, a savior, a Messiah.
They swooned over him, worshiped him and felt their legs tingle freely. They
painted him as some kind of cool genius, a suave sophisticate, a brilliant
seer, with the entire school-of-fish knee-jerk collective consciousness of the MSM referring
to him as “cerebral” almost to a person in 2008. Where, exactly, is the proof
of this caricature’s vast knowledge and savvy brilliance? Certainly not in his
own words.
“My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the
history of the world. I hope you’ll join with me as we try to change it.”
“I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good
for everybody.”
“They say that—uh—they say that—uh—in the face of
challenges—uh—that we face—we should be trying to do less than more.”
“I’ve now been in 57 states—I think one left to go.”
“The reforms we seek would bring greater competition,
choice, savings and inefficiencies to our health care system.”
The Constitution was, “…put to paper nearly 20 centuries
ago.”
“We find unity in our incredible diversity, drawing on the promise enshrined in our Constitution: the notion that we are all created equal…”
“But I think it is an imperfect document, and I think it is a document that reflects some deep flaws in American culture, the Colonial culture nascent at that time."
“It’s a tragedy the Constitution wasn’t radically reinterpreted to force redistribution of wealth for African Americans.”
The Constitution, "...says what the states can’t do to you (and) what the Federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the Federal government or State government must do on your behalf.”
“But, the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution
of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic
justice in society. To that extent, as radical as I think people try to
characterize the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break
free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding
fathers in the Constitution, at least as its been interpreted and Warren
Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties."
“…they end up taking a hospital bed—it costs—when if you—they
just gave—you gace treatment early—and they got some treatment—and a breathalyzer—or
an inhalator—not a breathalyzer. If they had an inhalator—inhaler—I’m still
stumbling over this word. You know what I mean. You know what I mean. Then we
would save some money.”
“The Middle East is
obviously an issue that has plagued the region for centuries.”
"Israel
is a strong friend of Israel’s.”
“On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken
line of fallen heroes—and I see many of them in the audience here today…”
“…America
compared to countries like Europe.”
“I’m always worried about using the word ‘victory’,
because, you know, it invokes this notion of Emperor Hirohito coming down and
signing a surrender to MacArthur.”
“Whether we like it or
not, we remain a dominant military superpower….”
Looks
light a knock-out in the first round to me when we compare the knowledge of these two men when it comes to our nation, its principles and its history. Dutch v Dunce, as it were. Still, we’ll come back and do a few more comparisons
between the Reagan years and the Obama years next time to check things out beyond the personal level. After all, the character of the man at the personal level carries great consequences at the local, national and world level.

MORE CHICAGO MAYHEM...CALL OUT THE NATIONAL GUARD!
Tanks in the streets of Baghdad: "Nazis! Gulags! Pol Pot!"
Tanks in the streets of Chicago: "It's for the children!"
We glanced briefly at the wondrous DEMOCRAT Utopia that is Chicago just last time. Now things have gotten so bad there that Black Panther racist felon Illinois DEMOCRAT Congresscritter Bobby Rush has called for an "emergency summit" with other Illinois DEMOCRAT leaders while Illinois DEMOCRAT Congresscritter Monique Davis has called upon Illinois DEMOCRAT Governor Pat Quinn to deploy the National Guard to Chicago to, "Save the children."
Maybe it's just me, but I seemed to notice a recurring theme in the previous paragraph, but it escapes me at the moment.
Anyway, if the DEMOCRAT powers-that-be in Chicago do call out the National Guard, anyone in the military knows you must have a unified and clear-cut chain-of-command for the military to do its job. Let's check out the DEMOCRAT links in that chain of command should the Guard roll tanks into Chiraq.
Commander-of-Chief (his words, not mine): DEMOCRAT President: Barack Hussein Obama
Senator: DEMOCRAT Insider-Trader Dick "Turban" Durbin
House Representative: DEMOCRAT Jesse Jackson Jr. (Unless he's in prison before the Guard deploys.)
Governor: DEMOCRAT Pat Quinn (originally catapulted into office from Lt. Governor when his predecessor DEMOCRAT Governor Rob Blagovich was sent to prison.)
Illinois State House Leader: DEMOCRAT Mike "Your Pension is My Pension" Madigan
Illinois State Attorney General: DEMOCRAT Lisa Madigan (daughter of guess who?)
Chicago Mayor: DEMOCRAT Rahm "Deadfish" Emanuel
Well, now that we have that all cleared up, what could possibly go wrong with the likes of such leaders at the helm? Roll the tanks!

CHICAGO HAS PROBLEMS? CAN'T BE POLITICIANS; GOTTA BE GUNS!
Chicago Politics: Blame the Guns!
The Liberals have all the answers. Just ask ‘em and they’ll
tell you. Better yet, don’t even bother to ask. The politicians and the MSM and
academia and Hollywierd will still tell you anyway.
This being the case, you would think these “Wizards of Smart”
would have a great big “I Love Me Wall” emblazoned with evidence and stories of
an endless parade of blinding successes. You know, in places they have
controlled politically for decades, where they firmly hold the purse strings
and have basically had it all their own way to implement their grand Utopian
Liberal designs as they’ve seen fit. Wonderful, safe, homey places like LA, Detroit,
New York, Atlanta, St. Louis, Boston, Philly, Washington D.C. and the
good ol’ Windy City itself, political spawning ground
of the likes of Barack Hussein Obama.
You’d think Chicago
in particular would be a veritable Garden of Eden by now. The political machine
there has not elected a Republican since 1927. For a period of about half a
century, there was actually a little-known city statute that no one could become
mayor unless his last name was “Daley”. This was Illinois’
Royal Family, the poor cousins of America’s Royal Family, the
Kennedys, but they all worked together to advance Leftist causes.
Chicago
had already earned itself quite a name in politics even before 1919. In that
year, a bunch of absolutely scary-looking women with hatchets who you’d think
would have been all in favor of drunk guys as their only hope of ever getting
laid, exercised their new found power of the vote to help force through
Congress the Volstead Act, aka Prohibition. It was about as successful as every
other instance in which a highly vocal minority with political clout rammed
their personal views down everyone else’s throats, including those continuing
power plays going on at this very moment. The main unintended consequences of
Prohibition were the creation of organized crime as a major power in the US, a
vast increase in the law enforcement power of the federal government, and yet
more political corruption, with Chicago proudly leading the way. The King of
the Gangsters Al Capone was the de facto ruler of Chicago, where he and his opponents used the
new-fangled motor car and Thompson submachine gun to create the drive-by
shooting, a proud tradition still carried on by Chicagoans to this day. Capone’s
downfall indirectly came from politics; he was busted for tax evasion in 1931
for listing Chicago’s
last GOP mayor, William “Big Bill” Thompson, and numerous other city and police
officials as “dependants” when he filed his taxes. Such was the corruption in
Chicago during Prohibition that even Detroit, not yet a unionized Muslim
caliphate in those days, merely received an “honorable mention” when Michigan State
Police busted a speakeasy in that city that netted the mayor, the sheriff and
the local congressman.
With Chicago now firmly and apparently permanently in
Democrat hands, FDR’s New Deal of the 1930’s, LBJ’s Great Society of the 1960’s,
and BHO’s “Change” of 2008 all pumped gargantuan amounts of federal tax dollars
into the city’s coffers, as opposed to the merely gigantic amounts of those
lean years in between. When federal money proved insufficient to enact their
wondrous improvements to society, the Chicago
political machine merely taxed the living shit out of “their own”. Their own
now includes basically every working person in the entire state of Illinois (which is not,
BTW, officially “one of those states in the middle.”) It is not a symbiotic relationship.
It’s more like something you’d see on MST3K, a bad 1950’s B horror movie, The Giant Mutant Tick From Hell. Chicago political power
grows just for the sake of growth (the ideology of the cancer cell), sucking
its host dry while at the same time infecting it with the Liberal equivalent of
Lyme’s Disease.
The socialist Left has basically had free reign in Chicago for decades, having
taken possession of all the power and all the money they could possibly squander
to instigate all their favorite Liberal-Socialist panaceas. Yes, they “led the
way” in reforming Chicago
society into the peaceful and prosperous Utopia it is today. For instance, great
forward-looking educational reformers like Terrorist Bill “Boom-Boom” Ayers, now
Education Secretary Arne “Sandy” Duncan, Jesse “Shakedown” Jackson and Barack “Not
Me” Obama, among others, brought significant changes in Chicago’s public education system. Of course they were backed up all the
way by the Chicago Teachers Union.
Among other quality improvements, these people sought…not
even making this crap up…the collection of student’s biometric data, Radical
Math for Social Justice, an all-gay Social Justice Solidarity High School,
forced/bribed school affiliation with “external partners” (ACORN), Restorative
Justice, to “raise political consciousness” in students and to make education
the “motor force of revolution.”
Alas, with a measly $2.9 billion a
year budget, Chicago’s
publik skools just didn’t have the funding to make any real strides in
education. The Chicago Teachers Union President Karen “Fat Bastard in Drag”
Lewis recently blamed CPS’ unending disastrous failures on “racism” and “rich
white people.” This was a stunning revelation, as she had formerly been blaming
bankers, capitalists, standardized testing, charter schools, a “culture of fear”
and Rahm Emanuel for all the dismal failures which occurred on her watch. With
leadership like that, it’s no wonder Chicago
high school social studies teacher Jason Spoor (not making it up!) proudly
displays portraits of Che Guevara and Karl Marx in his classroom.
As a result of all their hard work and spending, Chicago
schools are a disaster and, according to the alarmists who say only spending
more taxpayer money can fix anything, teetering on the abyss of a one billion
dollar budget deficit. Chicago recently set another
new standard with the largest single mass school closing in US history,
shutting down no less than 53 of their vaunted educational paradises this year.
Working almost as well as their education reforms have been Chicago’s long standing frothing-at-the-mouth
attacks on the Second Amendment. Chicago
boasts some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation. By 1982, Chicago had already
effectively banned private ownership of handguns…all firearms needed to be
registered by law, but the city would not register handguns unless they had
already been registered prior to 1982. Illinois
is now the only state in which no citizen
can legally carry a concealed handgun. In Chicago you must obtain an Illinois state
FOID (Firearms Owners Identification) card ($100, renewed every 3 years) and a Chicago Firearm Permit ($100 x 3
years) to buy even a single box of ammunition…”Achtung! Vere are your
papers?!?!” I’m not sure where
you would find a gun store to buy that ammo…Chicago prohibits the sale of firearms within
city limits. You may only possess your registered ($15) firearm within
your own dwelling…you can’t legally take it out in the back yard or the
garage or anything. That weapon cannot be a banned “assault weapon”, nor can it
hold more than 10 rounds and yes, barrel shrouds are included in the law as
being evil. Chicago’s
gun laws actually prohibit museums from displaying old, unloaded firearms.
Why Hell, with all
those gun control laws Chi-town must be just about the safest place in the
world, right?
Er, not so much; Chicago enjoys some of
the highest homicide rates in the country. Go figure. Chicago
boasted in excess of 500 murders last year alone; Ireland couldn’t produce that many
bodies even combining the two bloodiest years at the height of The Troubles. The
residents of this gun-free Liberal Utopia celebrated Father’s Day weekend with
41 shootings resulting in 5 deaths. More recently, they took advantage of the
long 4th of July holiday weekend to squeeze in 72 shootings
resulting in a dozen dead. Statistically, it’s safer to walk the streets of Baghdad, which has led to Chicago being referred to as “Chiraq.” Denizens
of Detroit are incensed that Chicago earned such a nickname while they’re
stuck with “Little Mogadishu.”
Predictably, Mayor Rahm
Emanuel led the charge of politicians and media hacks screaming that only more
gun control can possibly stop the violence.
Fred Zamberletti of
the Minnesota Vikings once actually said, “The definition of insanity is
doing the same thing year after year and expecting different results." The
phrase has also been attributed to others, such as Benjamin Franklin or Albert
Einstein, but may have come from Narcotics Anonymous. New York Magazine even made an extraordinary Evel Knievel-like leap
to attribute it all to lesbian novelist Rita Mae Brown in an attempt to
discredit Mitch McConnel when he dared use the quote to criticize the Obama
Administration’s endlessly repeated failed policies. And why not? They
certainly couldn’t have written an article defending Obama’s policies on their
own merits.
Just as they can’t argue that all the continuing success of Chicago’s present gun
control laws will lead to even more success if they pass more of them. Instead,
they’ll just mince statistics that Chicago’s
homicide rate isn’t all that bad and Chicago’s
gun control efforts are a failure because we haven’t inflicted those laws on
the entire country yet.
Just as Prohibition had the unintended consequences of
creating and empowering the Mafia and gangsters like Al Capone, Chicago’s gun laws have
also had the side effect of making inner city gangs who are already running
virtually unchecked even more powerful. Their victims have been stripped of any
means of self-defense. All the police can do is come by later and draw a chalk
line around your bullet-riddled corpse. In reality, the Leftist political
powers-that-be in Chicago
don’t really want the police to crack down on gangs. The more fear and foment
in the streets, the more willing the surviving populace is to vote still more
power and money to the government which, in this case, means the uber-Liberal
ruling elite who’s been in power for decades and plans to remain right there.
I think THIS GUY put it pretty well: “It’s as if they live in some alternate
universe – apparently, none of the city’s politicians have ever watched the
History Channel’s illuminating series, “Gangland” which makes it abundantly
clear that inner city gangs (including Chicago’s) are as heavily armed as ever.
In fact, these street thugs merely laugh at gun laws, even boldly showing their
guns to the interviewer, right on camera!”
By Rahm Reasoning, vicious criminals who don’t give a damn
about murder, assault, robbery, rape, extortion, drug dealing, pimping and
umpteen other gun laws will somehow suddenly be stopped cold in the tracks by just
one more additional gun law. “Zoinks!”
they’ll say, or words to that effect. “You know, I didn’t mind breaking all
those other laws, commandments and basic social mores and brutalizing and
killing people, but the fact that I might violate Chicago Gun Law #374.2 really
shakes me up. I think I’ll give up my lucrative life of crime, throw my gun in
the river, and take up a part-time minimum wage job at a convenience store so I
can afford to pay my fine for not having health care insurance!”
Yeah, good luck with that.
