THE IDIOCRACY IS ALIVE AND WELL

First up in our line of idiocy is our old pal Nancy “The Dunce” Pelosi, showing once more while she still has to have those light socket safety guards in her home and has to have those special round-nosed scissors. Sure, it was bad enough when she told us we needed to pass the health care bill so we could “see what’s in it.”

Judging from past performance, no doubt even now she still has no idea what's actually in the 2,000-page monstrosity health care fiasco, she brings us good news. We can all quit our jobs and become artists!! Not artists who actually produce art which has value and can support them and is enjoyed by others, of course. She means artists like the taxpayer-funded crackpots who produce “art” in the form of crucifixes in big jars of urine. This sudden infusion of mediocre wanna-be artists will no doubt quickly turn our foundering, dying economy right around, produce vast amounts of taxable wealth, and almost instantly repair our crumbling infrastructure.

We see it as an entrepreneurial bill, a bill that says to someone, if you want to be creative and be a musician or whatever, you can leave your work, focus on your talent, your skill, your passion, your aspirations because you will have health care.

So, you can‘t—everybody has so much to gain from this, small businesses, as I said, seniors, young people, women, our economy. Think of an economy where people could be an artist or a photographer or a writer without worrying about keeping their day job in order to have health insurance or that people could start a business and be entrepreneurial and take risk, but not job loss because of a child with asthma or someone in the family is bipolar—you name it, any condition—is job locking.

You see, the only reason any of us hold regular jobs is so we can get health benefits. Now that we have “universal” “free” “healthcare”, everything’s all taken care of and I can follow my dream to create and express my own “art” by running around the streets of Missoula naked and smeared with dingo feces. Now that we have “free” healthcare, apparently, we apparently don’t have any other bills either! No rent, utilities, car payments, mortgages, tuition, food, gas, etc, etc, either! It’s amazing! No reason to remain gainfully employed at all! Thank you, Nancy. We’ll all be tendering our resignations post haste!

While we’re on the subject of not knowing what the hell is in bills, our legal beagle expert Attorney Corporal Eric "Heinrich" Holder has been “testifying” before Congress on the dangers and evil of Arizona’s anti-ILLEGAL immigrant law. Heinrich has sicced the "Justice" Department and Fatherland, er I mean Motherland, er I mean Homeland Security on the state the as well. After blithering away about it for God knows how long to the state-run media lackeys, “celebrities”, and socialistic liberal politicians (D or R), it turns out he’s never actually read the bloody bill!! And, unlike the healthcare monstrosity, it’s only something like 10 pages long! If the boob can’t even read and/or comprehend 10 pages, how the hell can he be expected to read and understand, say, the United States Constitution. Never mind. Don’t answer that.

Talk about idiots and hypocrites. Can you imagine if a GOP speaker or a member of the Bush Administration kept repeatedly doing and saying such asinine, moronic things? They’d be crucified and ridiculed for decades. But, since the so-called free press is nothing but a bunch of slobbering leg-humping acolytes of liberalism in general and Barack Hussein Obama (mmm-mmm-mmm) in particular you have to hear about this stuff on obnoxious blogs.

Although the president thinks you’re getting “too much information” this way, (i.e. information he and his media lapdogs haven't censored for us) and doesn't think the First Amendment should apply to the Internet, at least not if you're critical of his dictatorship. Surprisingly, Obama even mentioned Thomas Jefferson, as he explained how the cherished institutions of this country have imploded and how he himself came to be elected.

"What Jefferson recognized... that in the long run, their improbable experiment -- called America -- wouldn't work if its citizens were uninformed, if its citizens were apathetic, if its citizens checked out, and left democracy to those who didn't have the best interests of all the people at heart. "It could only work if each of us stayed informed and engaged, if we held our government accountable, if we fulfilled the obligations of citizenship."

I guess that's why it no longer works for us. If the majority of voters were any more "uniformed" they would have to be put on life-support just to remember important bodily functions.

This is what happens when none of your elected rulers have never done an honest day’s real work in their lives. Jeez! What next? A Supreme Court nominee who’s never ever served as a sitting judge? Never mind. Don’t answer that either.

I actually think Pelosi has a point. I do think that a number of people who might otherwise start their own business--not just writers and artists, but mechanics, cooks, and dry cleaners--stick with their current jobs just for the health insurance. In other words, if a future Bill Gates or Steve Jobs keeps grinding away at a corporate job simply because he has diabetes or high blood pressure and can't afford non-subsidized health insurance, we all lose. Unfortunately, I'm not convinced that the new plan will change that. And, I suspect that most writers, artists, and actors will continue to wait tables simply because so few ever make enough at their art to earn a living.

You're right Anon, there is a grain of truth in Pelosi's words. People stay at jobs that they may not like for a number of reasons, and health insurance is one I hear a lot.

But that fact doesn't change the Constitution to give the feds one ounce of authority over healthcare. It doesn't change the fact that the feds will screw up healthcare, more than they'll better it. It doesn't change the fact that Obamacare will cost far more than projected when the federal gov't is already broke. ($13 trillion in debt, $109 trillion in unfunded liabilities.)
