The liberal elite, especially in politics, the press and academia, always attribute to themselves a smug intellectual superiority to the washed masses on the "other side". We drooling hicks out here in Guns 'n' Bibles cretin Country, who march in lockstep to our masters' commands, with small minds and small thinking (you know...the Constitution, rights, freedom, sovereignty, etc.) are obviously inferior in intellect.  We are brain-washed buffoons willing to do the bidding of giant corporations and evil Republicans at the drop of a hat. To prove this, the libs come up with brilliant oratory and sweeping ideas expressing deep thoughts and a profound understanding of  Utopian ideals.

"Hope 'n' Change."
"Yes We Can."
"Give Me Money!"

A gathering of a million individuals, on their own initiative, without any Big Two Party affiliation, to express conscious and rational beefs against governmental excesses and over-reach, if it gets reported at all, is an Astroturf Movement, robots clanking in step, doing the bidding of their dark overlords. A gathering of four lesbians and eight paid protestors with misspelled placards, on the other hand, is "Grass Roots", a "Movement", "the People."

Take, for instance, the recent "protests" against Karl Rove. Here we see a true George Soros funded Rent-A-Mob (TM) Grass Roots political movement with deeply-felt convictions which the participants express with great credence and eloquence indeed.

Such as:
"Bullshit. Get off it.
The enemy is profit."

"Karl Rove is...a guy."

"Just right now in the conference was my first time hearing his name."

"I don't like the guy."

Or my favorite, see how many times you can work the talking point phrase "Neo-Con Agenda" into one sentence.

That last guy is...a guy. And I don't like the guy. See, we can offer intellectual political discourse as well.

Gun Nut Roundup June 2011

House Committee Holds Holder In Contempt/ Obama Invokes Exec Privilege
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, chaired by Congressman Darrell Issa, recently voted to hold U.S. Attorney General/International Arms Dealer/All-Around-Douchebag Eric Holder in contempt of Congress.  Holder has refused to release thousands of subpoenaed documents and has stonewalled the Congressional investigation into the DOJ's ill-fated Operation Fast and Furious.  The full house will vote on the contempt charge against Holder sometime the week of June 25th.  Click here to send your representative a prewritten email urging them to vote in favor of holding Holder in contempt of Congress.

President Obama has now invoked "executive privilege" to hide the documents subpoenaed by the committee.  Said Chairman Issa: "The President’s assertion of Executive Privilege this morning took us by surprise but did not alter the Committee’s conclusion that documents had been inappropriately withheld. Executive Privilege only applies to materials that directly pertain to communications with the President and his senior advisors. This assertion indicates that the White House’s role in Operation Fast and Furious and the response to whistleblower accusations has been greater than previously acknowledged. Just yesterday, the Attorney General indicated a willingness to produce a small subset of documents on the condition that the Committee end its investigation before they were described or made available for review. Today, the President asserted Executive Privilege to ensure they are never produced."

Bill Would Cut Funding For UN Gun Ban

From GOA: "Kansas Senator Jerry Moran introduced legislation to prohibit the Obama administration from negotiating away our gun rights as part of the UN Arms Trade Treaty (ATT).

"The ATT is a backdoor attempt to impose massive restrictions on U.S. gun rights. While negotiations on the treaty are being held behind closed doors, it is certain to include language that will:
* Require the registration and licensure of American firearms;
* Ban large categories of firearms;
* Require the mandatory destruction of surplus ammo and confiscated firearms;
* Define manufacturing so broadly that any gun owner who adds an accessory such as a scope or changes a stock on a firearm would be required to obtain a manufacturing license;
* Require 'microstamping' of ammunition."

The Obama administration is pushing for America to adopt this international gun ban, so contact your Senators and urge them to support S.2205, the Second Amendment Sovereignty Act of 2012.

2011: Gun Ownership Up, Crime Down (Again)

The FBI Preliminary Annual Uniform Crime Report indicates that violent crime dropped 4% in 2011.  This while checks on the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), a good indicator of gun sales, hit an all time record of 16.5 million last year.

“This is not a one-year anomaly, but a steady decline in the FBI’s violent-crime rates,” said Andrew Arulanandam, spokesman for the National Rifle Association. “It would be disingenuous for anyone to not credit increased self-defense laws to account for this decline.”

(APU): In a well-spring of patriotism, love and tolerance, Obama supporters all over the country are already rallying to the cause of his much-needed re-election in 2012. Evil, extremist, racist and probably homophobic cretins on the right side of the aisle have been strident in their false accusations that Dear Leader’s economic policies have been a disaster and that the national economy is in dire straits.
          To combat this kind of hate mongering our traveling correspondent Eileen Left has been interviewing neutral moderates in several major American cities to do a little good old fashioned MSM Fact Checking™. The economy, it seems, is in much better shape than the President’s critics would have you believe. You may be surprised at just how well the state of the economy is rebounding from the Bush debacle.
          In New York, NY Shay Lowe was, under the Bush Administration, unable to find a job in her graduate field of Middle Eastern Transgender Art Studies. Now, under the Obama Administration, she is fully employed as an official Vote Registrar for the non-partisan, non-profit Think Tank group Oak Seed and making a comfortable income of $249,999 a year.

 “I love my job,” says Shay Lowe. “I get to work in a quiet, stress-free environment and pick my own schedule. Oak Seed pays me $50 for each voter I register. I’ve made over $20,000 just on people named Soldier, Unknown. We need to raise awareness amongst the American public that voting is just too important to be left to amateurs.”
          Long-time Philadelphia resident and "former" Black Panther Malcolm Y told APU the same; he loves his new job, another Stimulus-funded opportunity that he feels would not have opened up under a McCain or Romney.

        “As an Election Monitor, I get to protect our democratic system of government  way of life, in more way than one.” Malcolm noted with well-earned pride, caressing the shiny new assault rifle passed on by the Justice Department from a Mexican donor. “It’s not all drudgery, punching time clocks, nine-to-five crap either. We have fun on the job. Nothing like whacking whitey on the head with a night stick; cracks us up every time. Attorney General Eric Holder even came by one day to personally thank us for all our effort and hard work.”
          “When Bush was in office,” New York transient Richard Noggin told APP. “I lived in a cardboard box on a steam grate and had to beg for spare change and cigarettes. Now, just by voting multiple times in precincts all over the city, I get all the free smokes I want, and I got this shiny new dumpster to call my own.”

            With a shiny new plastic nametag of his own bearing the name APOO pinned to his bright red shirt, a convenience store clerk in Dallas, TX was happy to talk to APP. “Under the Obama Administration, my income from food stamps alone has risen by over 300 percent!” Apoo told us gleefully. “On the first and fifteen of every month, I usually sell out of liquor, cigarettes and snack cakes by noon! The stuff just flies off the shelves! I can tell you that under Bush I was not driving a BMW.”

            Pausing thoughtfully, he added, “Would you like a Squishy with that?”

          A long-time student and feminist agitator of the University of California, Berkeley, Dew Upe can’t say how thrilled she is with her profession and a perhaps a chance to expand it if the election goes the right way in November. “Like I’ve been going to this university for like eleven years. I’m no dummy; I'm an intellecutal. At one point, I was afraid that I was going to have to like earn a degree and like go out and work for a living. Now, with my Obama Get-Out-of-Student-Loans-Free card, I can like go to college like for the rest of my life and never have to pay anything! You rock Barack! Sock it to Mitt!”

              In Seattle, WA, former homeless person and drug addict Hugh R. Skankee was equally effusive in his praise for President Obama in general and the DNC in particular. “Not so long ago, under Bush, I was living in a VAN down by the RIVER,” Hugh told our interviewer, scratching at the infected needle tracks on the inside of his tattooed arm. “Now I live on a BUS all over the COUNTRY. As a paid counter-protestor, I’ve been to places I never even hallucinated I would be able to go. Plus I get to hit people with STICKS and ROCKS and get away with it. What could be better?”

           The former CEO of the government subsidized “solar energy manufacturer” Sunyndra spoke to us anonymously by phone from his private villa in the Cayman Islands. “Four years ago, I was a mid-level bureaucratic toady facing a lay-off. Today, I am a retired multimillionaire and campaign donor who visits the Whitehouse regularly. I like to think that I have helped reverse the negative stereotype of those greedy CEOs from Capitalist companies by providing jobs to nearly eight servants and showing that we care about the environment. In Green Jobs, and Barack Obama, lies the future.”
          So there you have it; a clear picture of the real economy in America. Unlike what you may hear from evil right-wingers and the millions of “unemployed”, it is as strong as ever thanks to the untiring efforts of the Obama Administration. Let’s hope he has another four years in which to turn around the Bush Recession for good.

I've taken to listening to the Oldies radio station more and more these days. You know how the popular playlist stations are. They endlessly spin the same ten or twelve songs over and over again until the very title makes you sick then, one day, the song drops out of sight and is never heard from again.

Speaking of endless spin, it's not unlike our relentless watchdog media's "journalism." They find or borrow a catchy little phrase to succinctly describe their position, one which does not require a whole lot of brain cells to grasp (Hope 'n' Change! Yes We Can! O-Ba-Ma!), and keep repeating it until it is embedded in the national consciousness like the theme song from Gilligan's Island.

This is hardly a new concept. One MSM media expert explained, "The receptivity of the great masses is very limited, their intelligence is small, but the power of forgetting is enormous. In consequence of these facts, all effective [news reporting] must be limited to a very few points and must harp on these in slogans until the last member of the public understands what you want him to understand...."

Whoops. My bad. It wasn't Katie Couric or Christ Matthews or TOTUS who said that. It was a guy named Adolph. But the aforementioned have certainly taken his message to heart and make good use of it.

At any rate, one day the catchy little phrase backfires on them and their Chosen One and suddenly that phrase disappears in an instant and is never heard from again. In fact, in Orwellian fashion, they try to "unwrite" the phrase and purge it from the system. The power of forgetting is enormous. So the MSM simply finds another shiny object to dangle in front of their smarmy self-appointed intellectual lemmings ("Tea Party Evil!" "Scott Walker Sucks!" "OWS Grass Roots!") who latch onto the new slogan and sneer at the opposition (such as those wacky Ron Paul supporter kooks who foolishly explain the Constitution, freedom, limited government and real economics in detail) for being not-too-bright simplistic lumpen proletariat hicks because they can't chant a three word phrase repeating the Party Line.

Here's just a small list of those Golden Oldies which once enjoyed continuous airplay but have now been swept under the rug and subjected to the "power of forgetting." Pleases feel free to add any of the thousands of others I overlooked.

“He is NOT a Socialist!”

“I get a tingle up my leg.”

“Fact Check.”

 “Halve the deficit.”

“A 4.6% unemployment rate is TEOTWAWKI!”

“Gas prices are too high and the President is personally responsible.”

“Close down Gitmo!”

“Repeal Bush’s tax cuts for the rich.”

“No earmarks.”

"Debt Limit."

"Voter Fraud."

“Sunlight before Spending”

“The strictest ethics rules ever.”

"Most transparent government ever."

“Lobbyists won’t work in my Whitehouse.”

“It’s the Economy, Stupid.”

The PC hoplophobes strike again. Thanks to JIM at Real World Libertarian for catching this PC POS. It's so fracked up I can't even come up with any sarcasm. Two members of the Olympic swim team, visiting the US, posed with evil guns and posted a pic on-line. Now they are being hounded as if they were serial killers for doing so. The poor bi-athletes may end up being hanged in the public square.

How come we Constitutionalist and Libertarian types don't have the "right" to be offended by anything and everything? (Not that we would use it, our general train of thought tending toward you leave me the hell alone and I'll leave you the hell alone.) I could come up with quite a list of things the left does which "offend" me.

Once more the gurus of tolerance and equality find some pigs (themselves) more equal than others. If the boys had posed with an aborted fetus or George Bush's severed head, the MSM and the uber Liberals (but I repeat myself) would hail them as heroes. But shotguns and pistols?!?! Oh, the horror! The horror!
